We want you to feel right at home whilst you stay with us at West Steart Farm. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious and guests can have the freedom of the living rooms, kitchen and conservatory as well as wandering the extensive grounds, swinging in the hammock or supping wine by the pond. Life at West Steart is almost timeless, it is so peaceful and quiet there is very little to remind you of what time of day or even which decade you are in. The rooms are simply but very comfortably furnished with beautiful wood furniture complimenting the high vaulted ceilings with exposed oak beams. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a deep roll top bath just right for a long soak at the end of each day in the saddle. At the moment we have just 2 rooms, one which is spacious enough for 4 to share and the other for 2. We can let rooms subject to availability for single occupancy with no extra charge. We have just started work on renovating the garage into 2 more rooms which will both have en suite shower bathrooms with the same quality and homely/family feel.
The open plan farmhouse kitchen with both brick and wood panelled walls is a homely place to make a cup of tea and sit round the table to plan the day’s riding or chat over tea and cake at the end of the day. The conservatory has a great view of the garden and catches the beautiful morning light and makes the most of the last rays in the evening. When the weather allows, there’s also a nice garden area that we can eat and drink out at taking in that amazing view that West Steart was built to enjoy.
The sitting room has a lovely fireplace which makes those autumnal evenings just a perfect way to end the day, plenty of room for all to relax and chat over a drink. There are games and music and television with a multitude of dvd’s to choose between, with of course all our favourite horse films available to watch to fill the longer nights if you visit before or after the clocks change.
West Steart Farm is a comfortable blend of old meets new. It is a relatively new house built to make the most of the panorama of the Exe valley but constructed in an old traditional style. The result is modern comforts with the romance of an old building. We feel you’ll be comfortable and seduced by its charm whatever the time of year that you’ll chose to visit.
